The searchengines are the number one provider of traffic. Keywords are typed in and results appear. On the left hand side of the page are the organica(free) results and on the right hand side are the Adwords click (PPC) searchresults. If you are looking for ways to get more targeted traffic and you do not want to pay for it than you need to optimize your site for the searchengines. That is called SEO (Search Engine optimization). If you research on this topic you find out there are many SEO books, courses and tools. Before you know it you get addicted to studyinghow to do it and still nothing happens.
Here are the most important tips on how to succeed mindset:
Be positive
Set time aside and write down your plan
Set short term and long term goals
Do not jump from course to course
Do not keep buying tools
Only buy quality courses and tools and stick to them
Finish what you started
The above mentioned tips are the most important reasons that people fail with their online business. They do not focus and waste time and don’t get it done (properly).
Now how to Increase Website Traffic
Focus on a niche. preferably something you have knowledge and experience (maybe a hobby). If you do not know a niche go to a site like Amazon and read through the categories and watch the products that get the most sales. Think about the market: what is it that interests people.
When you have your niche you need to find keywords. That is what people type into the searchengine. You want your site to appear on top. But how to select the best keywords? Make a list of subjects in your niche and type them into the Google Adwordstool. Find out how many that term is searched on. For sites that have not yet been scoring well try to not go for keywords that are searched on more than say 5000 a month. The reason is competition. You can do a competition quick scan by typing your keyword in Google and looking how many pages appear. If you see less than 7,000 you will have a good chance of getting on top without a lot of backlinking.
Optimization is crucial. You want to get a good rating from the searchengines. They have a way to calculate the ranking of sites after a keyword is typed in. You have to get your keyword in the title, description, metakeywords and tags.
Linking is important. You can easily link to the internal pages/posts. Use the keyword in the anchor text (that is the phrase that is visible): example: How To Increase Free WebsiteTraffic. The anchor text is How To increase Free Website Traffic and the link is visible when you hover over it.
If you want to go for more competitive keywords that get More Website Traffic than you need external links to your site. You are looking for links from sites that have been given a good ranking by the searchengines. No use to get it from your friend that is also not found anywhere. There are many ways to get links. You can search for quality sites and ask them for a link. Social Bookmarking is a way to get links. Submitting to directories. Publishing articles to article directories. Putting videos on YouTube. There are many options.
The first years on the Internet I almost did not get any website traffic at all. How did I Improve Website Traffic? I’ll tell you.
